Tara Steinnerd
Tara
joined the MICHELE ZAVOS LAW GROUP, PLLC in August 2009. She is the
Firm's litigation associate, and works closely with both Eva N. Juncker
and Michele Zavos.
Prior to joining the firm, Tara worked for the Honorable Odessa F. Vincent in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and worked as a Law Clerk at the National Law Center for Children and Families in Alexandria, Virginia. Before attending law school, Tara worked in the political field, and was employed by such entities as the New Democratic Network and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Tara also worked on Capitol Hill for two members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Tara is an active member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Tara is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the National LGBT Bar Association, the Virginia Women's Lawyer's Association, and the Fairfax County, Virginia Bar Association. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 2001. Tara was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was raised in Texas.
Tara received her J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 2009. In law school, Tara was a member of the National Moot Court team for Constitutional Law, and a member of the Communications Law Journal, where she served in an editorial position during her third year of law school. Tara also served as a Student Attorney for the D.C. Law Students in Court program, where she represented criminal misdemeanor offenders in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Tara lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and spends her time outside of the office cheering on the Special Olympics basketball team her husband coaches. When basketball season is over, Tara can be found taking her two dogs, Guster and Finley, to the local dog park.
